Einhorn Associates, Inc. (including Broker Dealer, Inc.) is an investment banking firm that provides financing and other banking services for life science companies, including advisory services for joint ventures and licensing arrangements with major pharmaceutical companies, and related transactions such as mergers and acquisitions.

Our area of expertise is life science companies that are focused on chemical-related technology. We also service the specialty chemical industry, including coatings, adhesives and related raw materials. Since 1975 we have been the principal advisor on over 100 transactions in the chemical field and 200 transactions in total. 

Our clients range in size from multinational conglomerates and Fortune 500 chemical companies to small- and medium-sized privately held businesses and venture capital projects.

Due to the size and scope of the life science market, we believe that we can best serve our current and potential clients by focusing on the chemical aspects of life science because of our expertise in dealing with companies that have chemical expertise and experience. F I N A N C I N G

In the late 1990s, financing was easier to obtain. However, given the current state of the equity markets, it is important to have a solid understanding of what needs to be accomplished to be successful in today’s economic conditions. Einhorn Associates adds value in assisting our clients as follows:
  • Typically, 40 to 50 different financing sources need to be contacted to obtain the highest-quality investors with the best terms. Because of our established contacts, we can save our clients a lot of time and effort.
  • We understand what financing sources look for in a presentation and we have experience in simplifying documentation for potential investors.
  • We expedite due diligence for our clients so that our clients receive their financing faster.
  • We understand what investors expect to see in terms of returns and we work with our clients to strategize and expand on ideas that will ensure success in both the short-term and the long-term.

R E C E N T   L I F E   S C I E N C E   P R O J E C T S

We are currently working to raise $1-5 million for a gene therapy company that has developed a non-viral method of transferring genes to give long lasting therapeutic effects. The company is first focusing on orphan diseases.

We are also currently working on funding projects with a neural stem cell company, as well as with an enzyme related company.

We recently raised approximately $16 million for a drug discovery company with a design platform that uses proprietary algorithms and 3-D structures to create either new drugs or improved forms of existing drugs. This company has a complementary portfolio of lead compounds that were designed using the technology platform. We helped them refine their business plan (including financial projections), draft private placement documents, prepare management presentations and negotiate an executed term sheet.

In another life science project, we completed a private placement offering of approximately $1.5 million for a company that is working with surgical adhesives, sealants and related materials. We helped them develop the private placement documents, investor presentation, and financial projections, as well as providing advisory services. The company has also signed a marketing and joint development agreement with a major healthcare company in exchange for additional financing.
